USA Snowboard Association Slopestyle
Feb 25, 2012
The second USASA event at the Red River Ski Area will be a Slopestyle Event. Adding another competition to the Southwest qualifiers. Our goal for this event is to give the Southwest competitors another opportunity to gain points to qualify on the National level. This is going to be our first year to host an event, with more to follow. The Slopestyle course is going to be in our Hollywood Terrain Park located near Broadway Station. It will include two jumps with 2 lips, one for the little guys, and one for the big guys, along with a variety of boxes and rails to finish the course.
The USASA (United States of America Snowboard/Skier Association) is a grassroots organization that promotes safe, fair and fun events for snowboarders and skiers while fostering a competitive spirit. Every year riders compete in slalom, giant slalom, slopestyle, boarder/skier cross and halfpipe events at the regional level. Skiers can be involved in the slopestyle, skiercross and halfpipe events. Riders accumulate points to qualify for Nationals. The goal is to promote fun lifelong activities for snowboarders and skier of all ages.
