Accessibility Policy
Red River Ski & Summer Area supports and practices the ADA non-discrimination policies, processes, and provisions and fully complies with the associated Forest Service Accessibility Guidebook and applicable Federal, State, and Local Guidelines.
At Red River Ski & Summer Area, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all visitors. Our accessibility policies are designed to ensure that everyone, regardless of mobility or disability, can fully experience the beauty and adventure that our mountain resort has to offer. From adaptive equipment rentals to accessible facilities, we prioritize the needs of our guests and strive to provide equal opportunities for outdoor recreation. By fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity, we aim to create unforgettable memories for all who come to enjoy the stunning landscape and vibrant community at Red River.
Wheelchair and Other Manually Powered Mobility Aids
Wheelchairs and other manually powered mobility aids that meet the legal definition as “a manually-operated or power-driven device designed primarily for use by an individual with a mobility disability for the main purpose of indoor or of both indoor and outdoor locomotion" are allowed to be used anywhere foot travel is permitted by the ADA section 36.311 and 36 CFR 212.1.
Service Animals

Service animals are allowed in all public spaces within the Red River Ski & Summer Area base facilities. By definition, comfort animals are not considered to be service animals. In consideration of the potential endangerment of others, service and other animals are not allowed on chairlifts or snow-covered trails during the winter season. During the summer season and subject to safety considerations, service and other animals are permitted on aerial lifts and on Red River Ski & Summer Area trails. Red River Ski & Summer Area will not be responsible for injury to or death of the service or other animals.
Adaptive Ski Equipment and Lessons
Adaptive equipment that has been designed and manufactured solely for use by individuals with a disability (mono skis, bi skis, outriggers and sit skis) are allowed to be used. That use is in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Section 36.302(b)(2)(A)(ii), which requires reasonable modifications in rules, practices, or procedures, unless the entity can demonstrate that making such modifications would fundamentally alter the program.
Red River Ski and Summer Area offers adaptive skiing and snowboarding lessons for people with disabilities and special needs. Our mission is to provide personalized custom skiing and snowboarding experiences accessible to all. To allow us to best prepare for accommodations of Adaptive Lessons, please submit the Adaptive Lesson request form at least 14 days before arrival.
