Types of Adaptive Lessons

Stand-Up/Standard Equipment
Have concerns about standing up to ski or ride due to strength, balance, or range of motion? No worries! There are many possibilities and strategies to make it a reality. Two Tracking uses two legs, two boots, and two skis, but our instructors can suggest adaptive devices and techniques to keep you comfortable and meet your needs, creating a personalized skiing experience just for you. Two Tracking is suggested for physical and/or cognitive impairments. Adaptive devices and techniques can be utilized to help control skiing speed, direction, and fatigue. Three Tracking is skiing on one leg with two hand-held outriggers to assist with balance and turning. Three Tracking is suggested for amputations, atrophy, discomfort, and/or range of motion concerns. Four Tracking uses two boots, two skis, and two hand-held outriggers. Four Tracking is suggested for prosthetics, atrophy, discomfort, balance, and/or range of motion concerns.

Are you feeling a bit unsure about standing up to ski or snowboard? We offer a sit-skiing option that allows you to enjoy the mountain while relying more on core and/or upper body movements and techniques to control turn shape and speed. Our experienced coaches will help you feel comfortable and confident on the slope. An adaptive sit ski with two skis underneath. It can be used with hand-held outriggers or fixed outriggers. Can be skied independently and/or with an instructor to help control speed and turn shape. Mono/Bi-Ski is suggested for amputations, atrophy, spinal Cord Injury (SCI), and traumatic brain injury (TBI).
